Westfield loyalty club members warned after data breach
Westfield has notified customers of a data breach affecting members of its loyalty programme and newsletter subscribers. The compromised information may include names, email addresses, phone numbers, postcodes, and dates of birth.
The company says it took immediate steps to contain the incident and has informed the relevant data protection authorities. Westfield has confirmed that no financial information - including bank details or payment card numbers - and no passwords were affected.
While there is currently no evidence of fraudulent use, customers are being advised to stay alert. Be cautious with any unsolicited calls, emails or texts, especially if you're asked for payment details or passwords. Westfield has confirmed it will never request this information via those channels.
If you're an East Village resident who shops at Westfield Stratford and holds a Westfield Club membership or has signed up to their newsletter, it's worth checking your inbox for the notification email.
If you have questions or want to exercise your data rights, contact Westfield's data protection officer at dpo@urw.com or in writing to 1 Ariel Way, London W12 7SL.
