Spring is almost here, and March is shaping up to be a genuinely packed month on the doorstep of East Village. From free dance workshops to world-class running events, here's everything worth knowing about this month.
Running events at the park
London Half Marathon & 10K presented by TREK
Sunday 1 March | Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
The race season kicks off right on our doorstep. Choose from the Half Marathon (9:00am), 10K (9:38am) or Junior Race (11:30am), all starting and finishing at the iconic London Stadium island. Flat, fast, and road-closed - perfect for a spring PB.

Saturday 14 March | Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (Timber Lodge, E20 1DY)
Another chance to race around the Park - chip-timed, flat, with medals and goodies at the finish. Start times from 9:30am.

Let's Dance! at Sadler's Wells East- National Day of Dance

Sadler's Wells East is the London hub for the UK's National Day of Dance, led by broadcaster Angela Rippon. The full day of free classes on The Dance Floor includes Family Freestyle (10am, for ages 2–4 with parents), Lindy Hop (10:45am), Flamenco (11:30am) and Indian Contemporary & Bollywood (12:15pm). In the afternoon, free experience workshops for older performers from the Company of Elders (2–4:45pm).
Earlier in the week, catch the panel discussion Art Cure: Let's Dance! on Wednesday 4 March at 5pm - exploring the science of how dance improves health and wellbeing.
Midnight - A New Original Musical by Todrick Hall

Grammy-award-winning artist Todrick Hall's brand new original musical - featuring stars Marisha Wallace and Rachel Tucker - wraps up its run at Sadler's Wells East this weekend. Catch it while you can.
Landscapes - Russell Maliphant Dance Company
11–14 March | Sadler's Wells East
New work from acclaimed choreographer Russell Maliphant, known for his signature blend of martial arts, release technique and lighting design.
The Rite of Spring / Mirror
18–21 March | Sadler's Wells East
A double bill featuring a new take on Stravinsky's iconic score alongside a companion piece.
V&A East Storehouse
David Bowie Centre
Open daily (free, no ticket required from 3 Feb) | V&A East Storehouse, Hackney Wick
If you haven't visited yet, now's a great time - the David Bowie Centre is the permanent home of Bowie's archive of over 90,000 items, with rotating displays of costumes, instruments, handwritten lyrics and more.
Walk-in is now available without booking, though queues are possible at weekends. For one-to-one time with objects, book the Order an Object service in advance.
Also: a special V&A Academy one-day course on Bowie on Monday 9 March (£100 — check website for availability).
