The week gets going on Thursday. A Dance Umbrella show opens on East Bank, West Ham play under the lights on Friday, and Saturday has something on from lunchtime to late.

Thursday 8 October

Family Freestyle

Dance workshops for children aged 2 to 4 with a parent or carer, led by professional dance artists. The first of a weekly run that goes on to 17 December.

Dance Umbrella: THE HERD/LESS

A new ensemble work by South African choreographer Mamela Nyamza, with live percussion, as part of the Dance Umbrella festival.

Friday 9 October

West Ham v QPR

A Friday night home game. Expect crowds and busy stations around Stratford before kick-off and after the final whistle, so allow extra time if you're heading out.

Saturday 10 October

Hackney Wick and Fish Island litter pick

A clean-up along the Hertford Union Canal, organised by the Bow East councillors, with refreshments at the end.
