This week in E20: England's World Cup run ends at the semi-final, Wing Fest brings 45 vendors and 500,000 wings to London Stadium from Friday, the Summer Fête takes over Victory Park on Saturday, and Belvedere Park is now open.
England are out
Argentina ended England's World Cup run in the semi-final last Wednesday, coming from behind to win 2–1. Two second-half goals cancelled out Anthony Gordon's opener, with Messi at the heart of the comeback. The World Cup final was played last night. The summer of football is over; now for the summer of E20.
East Village Summer Fête: Saturday 25 July
The Summer Fête is back at Victory Park on Saturday 25 July, running from 11am to 5pm, completely free. Expect live music, street food, market stalls, creative workshops, and a proper neighbourhood celebration. With Belvedere Park freshly reopened right next door, this year's Fête has something extra going for it. No ticket needed.
Wing Fest: 24 to 26 July at London Stadium
The world's largest chicken wing festival takes over London Stadium this weekend. Over 45 vendors are competing for your vote and a place in the Hall of Flame, alongside live music, axe throwing, rides, and eating competitions. An estimated 500,000 wings will be consumed across the three days. Tickets from free; book at wingfest.co.uk/london.
The Big Flea Market: also Saturday
Running alongside the Fête from noon to 6pm, 10 traders from Judy's Vintage Fair are pitching up in Victory Park with vintage furniture, ceramics, art, lighting, fashion and jewellery. Free entry, cash and card accepted, dogs welcome.
Belvedere Park is open
If you haven't visited since the redesign, this weekend is the moment. The new play area, community garden, wildflower planting and improved paths are all ready to explore. Take a walk through after the Fête.
