2026-05-11 news This Week in E20: 11-17 May Summer is just around the corner, and the park is heating up with heaps of events. Here's a taste of what's happening this week.

A quick reminder - EVH doesn't run these events, but we share the details so you know what's happening around E20.

Wednesday 13th May

The Music is Black festival kicks off with a panel talk chaired by Dr Clive Chijioke Nwonkona - an evening of discussion with internationally renowned designers, photographers, and stylists.

Ballet with my Baby continues at The Lighthouse and Gardens - it’s an interactive dance class for parent/carer and child for ages 16 months - 4 years old.

Thursday 14th May

The Music is Black Festival continues with a listening party - become immersed in an album’s sonic world with a guided, collective listening experience designed to slow down and listen to an album from start to finish.

There’s also a fully timed 10km run with all the energy and hype you need to get you through. Kicking off in Hopkins Field, with a post-run social hub and after party.

Saturday 16th May

Park Run continues in Hackney Marshes, and Flea London continues over in Hackney Bridge

Sunday 17th May

Don’t forget it’s the Hoka Hackney Half on Sunday - kicking off in Hackney Marshes. Watch out for road closures around the area, and go along to cheer on the runners and take in the amazing atmosphere.

Tuesday and Thursday

The Coffee Rides continue at the Lee Valley Velodrome. It’s a chilled-out way to enjoy cycling and meet new people. Just a casual ride where you can go at your own pace.

11:00 - 13:00

£8 if you have your own bike, or £15 if you need to hire one. A hot drink is included.
