East Village Summer Lates: Wednesday evening in the village

East Village Summer Lates returns this Wednesday 12 August from 5–8pm at the GetLiving Office on 1 East Park Walk - a free, no-booking-required drop-in evening packed with things to do. Try wines from new retailer Bado, join a wellbeing fundamentals class with Flourishing Lab, or treat yourself to a mini massage from Fix. The Signorelli summer menu will be on hand for food, The Conservation Volunteers are running a nature in East Village session, and Dr Bike and Bikeworks are offering free bike tune-ups. Come for one thing, stay for all of it.

Chase the Sun: Wednesday evening run on the Park

Also on Wednesday evening, RunThrough brings its Chase the Sun 5k and 10k series back to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The 5k and 10k both start at 7pm, taking in the Park's iconic scenery as the summer sun dips. It's a chip-timed, well-marshalled event with post-race goodies, and a great midweek excuse to get moving. Register at runthrough.co.uk.

Bobbi Brown Makeup Masterclass: Thursday at John Lewis

If beauty tutorials are more your thing, John Lewis at Westfield Stratford is hosting a Bobbi Brown Makeup Masterclass on Thursday 13 August from 1–2pm. £10 to attend, it's an hour of technique and tips from Bobbi Brown counter experts. RunThrough Lee Valley Velopark: Saturday morning races

RunThrough takes over the Olympic Park's Lee Valley Velopark on Saturday 15 August for a morning of races on its unique, gently undulating MotoGP-style road circuit. There's something for everyone: a half marathon (9:30am), 10 miles (9:45am), 5k (10am), 10k (10:30am), plus a 1 mile and junior race from 10:15am. Entry starts at £10 for the mile and £26 for the 5k. DnB Brunch at Riverside East: Saturday afternoon

Once you've recovered from the morning's exertions, or even if you haven't, the Original DnB Brunch lands at Riverside East this Saturday 15 August from 2pm to 10pm. Outdoor jungle and drum & bass, a legendary lineup, a massive soundsystem, and summer vibes at one of east London's best open-air spots. Tickets via Riverside East.

Planetarium Go is still running beside the ArcelorMittal Orbit until 29 August — the 360-degree dome with space shows for all ages is well worth a visit if you haven't been yet, and your ticket includes 30% off Zip World London. Flea London's cult vintage market continues every Saturday and Sunday at Hackney Bridge, 11am–5pm. And Hackney Marshes Parkrun is, as ever, at 9am every Saturday.
