Planning Lists: September 2026

East Village Hub 2 min read

Here are the updates from Newham's planning lists for September that touch East Village and the streets around it.

Victory Park redesign

26/01356/AOD

Newham approved a verification report for the Victory Park and Belvedere redesign on 25 September. It is one of the conditions attached to the 2024 permission, which covers rebuilt play areas, replacement public art and an area of wilderness, and a new pavilion with toilets and a flexible space (the pavilion was in the May planning lists).

Nursery at 4 and 8 Abercrombie Road

26/01688/ADV

Signs were approved on 24 September for 4 and 8 Abercrombie Road, the units that the July planning lists reported were being joined into a children's nursery. The approval is for a projecting sign and a sign on the wall, neither of them lit.

Pudding Mill Lane, phase 1

26/01561/AOD, 26/01562/AOD, 26/01563/AOD and others

Pudding Mill Lane is the new neighbourhood planned inside the Park, with homes, shops, workspace and community space. On 22 and 25 September Newham approved a set of construction plans and surveys for its first phase: the construction environmental plan, the construction traffic plan, an environmental manager, construction noise and vibration, a survey of the DLR radio system, foundation risks and an archaeological investigation. A plan for construction dust was registered on 10 September.

Cherry Park, next to Westfield

25/01904/AOD and 26/01187/S106

Material samples for Cherry Park's C blocks (C1, C2 and C3) were approved on 25 September, along with the scheme's travel plan. Cherry Park is the site between Westfield Avenue, Montfichet Road and Cherry Park Lane.

Stratford Waterfront shop units

26/02050/AOD

Details for the retail units at Stratford Waterfront, in the Park, were registered on 23 September: noise and extract systems, flues and odour control, a grease trap and shop signs.

Also on the lists

  • 26/01939/AOD: detailed design for Building S1 at The International Quarter South on Westfield Avenue, registered 21 September.
  • 26/01907/NONMAT: a request, registered 2 September, to add 19 student bedrooms to the scheme approved in 2024 at Meridian Square on Great Eastern Road.
  • 26/02057/TEL: 4G and 5G small cell radio units on an existing lamp post on Great Eastern Road.

A note on timing: these come from the London Planning Datahub, which runs about a week behind Newham's own register, so late September applications may only appear in next month's list.
