A free drop-in showcase by 14 young east Londoners presenting short films and a collaborative zine in response to The Music is Black. Part of Queer Frequencies weekend.

Part of the Queer Frequencies weekend at The Music is Black Festival from East Bank, visit the top floor of V&A East Museum on Saturday 22 August for a showcase of work by 14 young east Londoners, developed in response to The Music is Black exhibition.

In collaboration with writer and artist DJ Elijah and music journalist Laviea Thomas, the group has been creating short-form video content and working together on a zine to showcase their ideas, research and creative responses.

Taking place in the Park Gallery on the top floor of V&A East Museum, experience screenings of their short films and interactive elements inspired by the zine. Enjoy the exhibition whilst listening to a DJ set from Elijah, hear talks from the participants, and add your own contributions to a collaborative zine about Black British Music.

This drop-in event runs from 2–6pm. Two members of the cohort will also be interviewing DJs Seb Odyssey and Fiyahdred in a panel talk on the Waterfront Stage at 1:15pm.
