Pay-what-you-can skateboarding for BPOC and LGBTQ+ communities at City Mill Skatepark. Every Saturday, 10:30am–1pm until 26 Sept. Boards, pads and helmets provided. Book on Eventbrite — capped at 15.
Skate Gals & Pals CIC brings its welcoming, community-led skateboarding sessions to City Mill Skatepark every Saturday from 1 August to 26 September 2026. Run by a BPOC and LGBTQ+ skate community, these sessions are open to everyone — all abilities, all backgrounds, beginners especially welcome. If you’ve never stepped on a board before, this is exactly the right place to start.
Sessions run on a pay-what-you-can basis, which means you contribute whatever feels right for your situation — no fixed price, no pressure. The model exists to make skateboarding genuinely accessible, so please come regardless of what you’re able to give.
All the kit you need is provided on the day: boards, pads, and helmets are all included, so there’s no need to bring your own equipment or buy anything in advance. Just show up ready to skate.
Places are capped at 15 per session to keep things personal and well-supported, so booking ahead is essential. Head to Eventbrite to secure your spot — sessions do fill up, and walk-ins cannot be guaranteed a place. City Mill Skatepark sits within Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, one of London’s most vibrant green spaces, making it a brilliant setting for a Saturday morning on wheels.
