Meet the ward police team, councillors and Newham's community safety officers, then vote on the crime and safety priorities for the ward. Open to anyone who lives, works or studies in Stratford Olympic Park.

The annual meeting of the Stratford Olympic Park safety ward panel, the ward East Village sits in. It is public and open to anyone who lives, works or studies in the ward, and runs for about two hours from 6.30pm.

On the agenda, from the panel's own listing:

  • Meet the ward police team, local councillors, Newham's community safety officers and Councillor Imam Haque, Newham's Deputy Cabinet Member for Community Safety.
  • Who handles anti-social behaviour: the council's community safety officers or the police.
  • An introduction to MetEngage, the Met's community messaging platform.
  • Crime figures for the ward and an update on what the police have done.
  • Results of the ward panel survey, then questions.
  • A discussion and vote on the ward's crime and safety priorities, and what the police can do about each.

The current priorities are phone theft, snatches and robbery, and parcel theft, and all three name East Village. I've written up what they say and what the ward's crime figures show in the story about the panel.
