Practical Advice
Decluttering Tips
Practical approaches that actually work in a flat - no need for a garage or a huge amount of free time.
- The one-box method
Start with a single box per room. Fill it with things you haven't touched in a year. Revisit in two weeks - if you haven't opened it, donate it. - Category, not room
Work through categories (clothes, books, kitchen) across the whole flat rather than room by room. Stops the same clutter migrating to a different drawer. - Book the skip (or van) first
If you've got bulky items, book your removal before you start sorting. Having a deadline keeps momentum going. - The 20-minute sprint
Can't face a full day? Set a timer for 20 minutes and do one focused area. Kitchen junk drawer, bathroom cabinet, coat hooks. Done.
