8 nurseries by walking time, how the 30 free hours work, and where to find a childminder.
Ask each nursery about places, fees and funded hours.
Three nurseries are in E20: Busy Bees and Chobham Academy Nursery on Cheering Lane, and N Family Club on Villiers Gardens. More are a short walk into E15. The nurseries on this page are listed by walking time from Victory Park. EVH does not hold Ofsted grades, fees or whether a nursery has places, so ask each one.
If you and your partner work, a child aged 9 months to 4 years can get 30 hours of free childcare a week, for 38 weeks of the year. You can apply from when your child is 23 weeks old, and there is a minimum you each need to earn. Check if you are eligible on gov.uk, then give the code you get to the nursery. Other help, including 15 hours for some 2 year olds, is listed on the same pages.
EVH does not list childminders. Newham's Family Information Service keeps the list: families.newham.gov.uk, fis@newham.gov.uk or 020 8430 2000. Every registered childminder is on Ofsted's register, which you can search by postcode.
