EVH is read on phones, often outdoors, often in a hurry. These are rules the design system enforces rather than aspirations:

• Every tap target is at least 44 by 44 pixels.
• Status is never shown by colour alone — there is always a word.
• All motion stops if your device asks for reduced motion.
• Text can be doubled in size without anything being cut off.
• A visible focus ring on everything reachable by keyboard.

Text contrast is measured rather than assumed, including for each of the six accent colours a resident can choose — which is why the accent you pick changes the colour of accent-coloured text as well as the surfaces, and why an accent is never used to mean anything. Colour on EVH signals status or nothing.

Stating these is more useful than claiming full compliance.

• The charts convey pattern visually. The heat map, the month bars and the outlook strip are read by eye. Each carries the same verdict in a sentence above it, but there is no per-area text summary yet.
• Picking a place on a map needs a pointer. Where a report asks for a location you can skip the map and describe the spot in words instead — but the map itself cannot be driven from a keyboard.
• Some linked PDFs are not tagged for screen readers. The ones EVH writes are; the ones published by EVML, Get Living and Newham are theirs, and we are asking.
• Video captions are automatic. Embedded video is played from YouTube, so captions are YouTube's and are occasionally wrong on street names.

None of these has a fix date yet, and we would rather say so than publish one we then miss. If any of them is what stops you using EVH, tell us — it moves up the list.

It helps to know what you were using — a screen reader and its version, a phone, a keyboard alone — but a sentence about what went wrong is enough to start.
